World Food Program: More than one billion dollars needed to continue helping people of Afghanistan
The World Food Program announced that more than one billion dollars is needed in Afghanistan to continue helping the people of this country.
According to the WFP statement, urgent funds are needed to continue humanitarian aid to the people of Afghanistan in the coming winter.
The organization further stated that due to the lack of financial resources, it has been forced to reduce the number of people it helps per month to 5 million of the most vulnerable people.
Hsiao Wei Li, director of the World Food Program in Afghanistan, announced earlier this week that the organization’s budget for providing food aid to Afghanistan will be exhausted by the end of October (in three months).
