Amnesty International urges end to persecution of Afghan immigrants in Pakistan
Amnesty International called on the government of Pakistan to end the persecution of Afghan refugees who have sought refuge in this country from fear of the Taliban as soon as possible, according to a statement released on Tuesday, June 20, on the occasion of World Refugee Day.
The Organization asked the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees to speed up the process of registering and reviewing the applications of Afghans seeking asylum in Pakistan.
This institution has also criticized foreign countries for not paying attention to the situation of Afghan refugees in Pakistan. Amnesty International also called on the Pakistani government to stop the arbitrary arrest and persecution of Afghan refugees.
