Local government of holy Karbala announced its determination on constructing railway that connects holy Karbala and holy Najaf.
A statement by the media office of the province received by Shia Waves Agency, said “the Governor of Karbala, Nassif Jassim Al-Khattabi, chaired a meeting with the deputy governor for services management affairs and the directors of the municipality, urban planning and railways.”
Al-Khattabi directed, “The relevant departments to complete all preparations, routes, and work mechanisms for the establishment of a tram-train to transport citizens within the center of the province, and the path of the Holy Karbala-Najaf train.”
Millions of pilgrims from various parts of the world annually arrive in the holy governorates of Karbala and Najaf, to visit the holy shrines, especially in the months of Muharram and Safar.
