A Christian delegation of Catholic clerics coming from Syria and Lebanon had the honor to visit the Holy Shrine of the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him), expressing their happiness with the visit.
The head of the delegation, Archbishop John Jihad Battah, Syriac Catholic Archbishop of Damascus, said in a statement followed by Shia Waves News Agency: “We are a delegation of Christian Catholics who came from Syria and Lebanon. We were accompanied on the tour by the Deputy Patriarch in Basra province, Firas Dardar, and the Deputy Patriarch in Beirut, Charles Murad, and we came to have the honor of visiting the holy places in Najaf, Karbala, and the archaeological sites in the city of Ur in southern Iraq.
He added, “We highly appreciate the interest of the religious authorities and those in charge of the service in the Holy Shrines as well as the pilgrims who come to perform the pilgrimage in its blessed courtyards.”
