First all-blind football team in Holy Karbala

Last week, Karbala witnessed the establishment of the first football team for the blind in Iraq.

The head of the Iraqi Al-Siraj Association for the Blind, Othman Al-Kinani, said in a press interview that “the first football team for the blind in Iraq was established in Karbala, and this step is historic for the people of this segment.”

He added, “In cooperation with the Japanese organization (IPF), the  initiative aims to rehabilitate and train the blind, as well as re-integrate them into the Iraqi society,” noting that “all the players are from Karbala Province.”
