The dome of the Grand Mosque of the Islamic Center in the Indonesian capital, Jakarta, collapsed due to a massive fire that broke out in the mosque and lasted for hours, according to what was reported by local media outlets and followed by Shia Waves News Agency.
The media said: “The Grand Mosque was undergoing renovations when it caught fire, according to the police, who said that at least four workers were brought in for questioning.”
North Jakarta Police Chief Coombs Wibowo said, “All worshipers in the mosque were evacuated, and no one was hurt in the incident, but four workers who were working on renovating the dome were taken for questioning.”
The Metropolitan Police official stated, “The judicial center at the police headquarters will be used to investigate the cause of the fire.”
