United Nations: Food security is a concern in Lebanon
The Representative of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Noura Orabeh Haddad revealed that the food security situation in Lebanon is worrying, and that it faces unprecedented challenges at all levels.
With the worsening of the food situation in Lebanon, following the severe economic crisis that has been going on for 3 years, it was ranked “among 20 countries that are hot spots for hunger.”
The UN official, Noura, explained that “food security has become among the global priorities of governments and organizations in light of the Corona pandemic and its repercussions on the economy and agriculture, in addition to the repercussions of the war in Ukraine on it.”
“The food security situation in Lebanon is as worrying as it is in other countries of the world, as this country faces unprecedented challenges at all levels, including the lack of diverse and safe food for all, as a result of successive political, social and economic crises,” she said.
