On Int’l Day for Elimination of Nuclear Weapons, Int’l Nonviolence Organization calls for pressure on conflicting parties
On the International Day for the Elimination of Nuclear Weapons, the International Nonviolence Organization (Free Muslim) called on the world for a global movement to put pressure on all parties to the conflict.
In a statement received by Shia Waves News Agency, the organization said, “An international occasion is passing in conjunction with an existential threat to humanity that political differences and conflicts have contributed to forming, as a grave challenge to all of humanity, as the international community celebrates on the twenty-sixth of September the International Day for the Elimination of Nuclear Weapons, as a day to remind and abide by the binding agreements prohibiting the use of this type of weapons of mass destruction and work to eliminate them.”
It added, “However, the ongoing political crisis and the raging war between Russia on the one hand, and Ukraine and Western countries on the other, have clearly contributed to the growing dangers of the use of nuclear weapons, which raises panic and anxiety throughout the international community without exception, given the magnitude of the disaster that will befall the land and its population in the event of using those weapons.”
The organization called on all humanitarian organizations and international effective institutions to organize a global movement to pressure all parties to the conflict and force them to calm down, stop the war, and use diplomatic means to ensure global security.
