Poll: British Muslims’ support for Labor waning

A new poll revealed a sharp decline in the support of the Muslim community in Britain for the Labor Party, with the growth of Islamophobia in the country.
Recently, it was revealed that Muslim MP Nusrat Ghani was dismissed from the British Ministry of Transport because of her religion.
According to an opinion poll conducted by the “Muslim Census” organization, which monitors and follows up on the Muslim community in Britain, it showed a significant decline in Muslims’ support for the Labor Party.
The poll, which was published online between January 23 and 26, collected the reactions of 1,042 Muslims living in the United Kingdom about which party they would vote for if elections were held, and their views on how the government and the opposition dealt with “Islamophobia”.
According to the poll, the Labor Party showed a sharp decline, receiving only 38 percent, recording a decrease of 40 percent compared to the result obtained in 2019.
19 percent of respondents did not specify which party they would vote for, while 18 percent of them said they would not vote for anyone, an increase of 10 percent from 2019.
The Green Party gained 8 percent, an increase of 7 percent from 2019, while the Liberal Democrats scored 4 percent, an increase of 1 percent.
As for the Conservative Party, it got just 2 percent, down 1 percent from 2019.
With the Conservatives receiving only 2 percent of the Muslim vote, Labor risks losing more than half the Muslim vote compared to the previous election.
The Labor Party was for a long time the party favored by the majority of Muslim voters.
