Tehran announces the launch date of the railway project linking Iraq and Iran

The Iranian government spokesman announced the launch of a railway linking project between Iran and Iraq by next month, after a delay of 20 years.
The spokesman said that the Minister of Roads and Urban Reconstruction presented during the meeting a report on his recent visit to Iraq and the signing of an agreement to link the railways between the two countries.
He added that the latest agreement marked the beginning of the realization of a project that has been delayed for 20 years. Accordingly, the project will enter into force during the next month.
He pointed out that the efforts, negotiations and follow-ups between the two parties have been a success.
