Iraqi forces destroy 9 hideouts of ISIS terrorist organization
The Iraqi authorities announced the killing of an ISIS terrorist and the wounding of another, in addition to the destruction of 9 hideouts belonging to the terrorist organization, in two separate operations in the north and east of the country.
This came in two statements by the Army Command in Kirkuk province (north), and the Security Media Cell of the Iraqi Ministry of Defense.
The commander of the headquarters of joint operations in Kirkuk, Lieutenant-General Ali Al-Fariji, said in a statement, “The army forces were able to kill an ISIS terrorist in a preemptive operation in the Wadi Shadi region.”
Al-Fraiji added that “the army forces also destroyed a hideout for ISIS members, and seized rocket-propelled grenades and explosive devices at the site.”
Wadi al-Shadi is located in the south of Kirkuk, on the borders of Salah al-Din (North) and Diyala (East), and it is one of the most important strongholds of ISIS in Iraq, known as the “Triangle of Death”.
Meanwhile, the Iraqi Ministry of Defense reported, in a statement, the implementation of air strikes on the Hamrin Mountains in Diyala province.
The statement stated that “the air strikes resulted in the destruction of 8 hideouts of the ISIS terrorist organization.”
