Iraqi military intelligence thwarts an attempt to target Arbaeen Pilgrims
Today, the Iraqi Military Intelligence Agency announced that it had thwarted an operation targeting the pilgrims of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, in Babylon.
“After intensifying work, continuous follow-up, and technical effort, the agency’s men managed to seize two explosive belts and an explosive device that was intended to be detonated to target the march of pilgrims to the holy city of Karbala,” the agency said in a statement.
“Our detachments are keen to establish security and stability along the path of pilgrims, and to follow up on and eliminate the remnants of ISIS terrorists.”
Almost every year, terrorists attempt to target the pilgrims of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, however this only boosts their determination and insistence on reviving the immortal event.
