The local Italian newspaper, Gazzetta di Modena, reported that the people of the city of Modena held a mourning procession on the martyrdom anniversary Imam Hussein ibn Ali, peace be upon him.
The newspaper stated, “The crowds of mourners gathered in a courtyard on Ago da Carpi Road to commemorate the painful tragedy of Ashura, while the organizers explained to the passersby the details of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, and the massacre committed against them by the forces of the tyrant Yazid.
The Gazzetta di Modena newspaper quoted one of the organizers as saying in a private interview that “the commemoration of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, is being held everywhere.”
