Twitter suspended the account of French politician Jean Messiha, known for his political ties to the far-right National Rally party led by Marine Le Pen.
The right-wing politician published a tweet, through a supportive account, in which he was surprised by the punishment that had been imposed on him and asked for help in order to restore his account.
Messiha is of Egyptian origins and was a political advisor to Marine Le Pen during the last presidential elections. He is known for his anti-Islam stances, as he more than once expressed his fear that Islam is the second religion in France, and the more Islam spreads, the more the principles of the republic and secular values shrink.
He continued to justify this hostility by distinguishing between Islam as a doctrine and political Islam, which he considers “the source of extremism and the first danger to the secular future of the French Republic.”
Many accounts on Twitter interacted with the news of the suspension of the account of the French right-wing politician, and that it was one of the political aspects that express the reality of Islamophobia in France, considering that the suspension of the account is a deserved matter.
