A specialized training program is underway in Iraq for women teaching the holy Quran to the visually-impaired.
A specialized training program is underway in Iraq for women teaching the holy Quran to the visually-impaired.
According to the imamali.net website, the training course began at the Pilgrims Town near Najaf on Sunday.
A number of Kuwaiti and Iranian Quran experts are among the instructors of the course.
It has been organized by Imam Ali holy shrine in cooperation with the Kuwait-based Habib ibn Mazahir Quranic Center.
Marziyeh Qulam Haidar, an official with the Women Quranic Activities Center of the holy shrine, said the program is aimed at enhancing the qualities of women who teach the Quran to the visually-impaired.
She added that the important role of Quran teachers, methods to encourage children to learn and read the Quran, and creating opportunities for flourishment of Quranic talents are among the subjects of the week-long program.
