The Dar-ol-Quran affiliated to Imam Ali holy shrine announced that it is ready to implement resting places for Arbaeen pilgrims in Basra Province, Iraq.
According to the website of the shrine, Amir Ka’bi, in charge of implementing the plan, said that 20 resting places from the north to the south of the province are ready to host the pilgrims.
The pilgrims resting at the places will be served different meals and receive Quranic gifts.
This is the seventh year that the Dar-ol-Quran will implement the plan on the occasion of Arbaeen.
Each year, a huge crowd of Shias march toward Karbala, where the holy shrine of Imam Hussein (AS) is located, to perform mourning rites marking Arbaeen, which is the 40th day after Ashura, the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS) and his faithful companions in the 680AD Battle of Karbala.
