The Head Office of the Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Sadiq Shirazi sends its condolences over the demise of prominent Indian Shia orator Mirza Muhammad Athar, last Friday.
The Head Office in the holy city of Qom, said on Friday evening, the seventeenth of Jamadi Al-Ulla 1437 A.H,in a statement of condolence, “On this sad occasion, we extend our heartfelt condolences to our beloved Imam al-Mahdi, may Allah hasten his reappearance, Indian Shia, and his family for the sudden death of Maulana Mirza Muhammad Athar.”
Maulana Mirza Mohammad Athar, the man who held the record for imparting Moharrum sermons for 57 successive years at the Masjid e Iranian in South Mumbai, became active in Islamic activities as his speeches and teachings of Islam drew people from different sects of the religion.
