Global Nonviolence Organization Calls for End to Violence and National Dialogue in France
——————————————-
The Global Nonviolence Organization (FreeMuslim) has expressed deep concern over escalating protests and social unrest in French cities, urging an immediate end to violence and a comprehensive national dialogue to address the underlying causes of tensions.

In a statement issued from its headquarters in Washington, the organization defended the right to peaceful protest while condemning vandalism, attacks on property and excessive use of force. It called on demonstrators to remain peaceful and urged security forces to exercise restraint and respect international human rights standards.

The organization stressed that security measures alone cannot resolve deep-rooted social and economic problems. It called on the French government to improve living conditions, create employment opportunities and address marginalization, particularly among young people in disadvantaged suburbs.

It also proposed establishing an independent commission to investigate alleged violations, including excessive force and acts of violence, and to hold those responsible accountable.

The organization concluded that sustainable stability in France requires social justice, equal opportunities, respect for cultural and religious diversity, and dialogue between the government and all sections of society.
