The United Nations Security Council unanimously adopted Resolution 2832 on October 19, 2026, with all 15 members voting in favor. The resolution aims to strengthen protections for children affected by armed conflict against violations of their rights and abuses involving digital technologies.

Drafted and introduced by Greece, the resolution emphasizes the importance of digital literacy education to help children recognize online risks and protect themselves from potential harm. It also calls on UN member states to strengthen the implementation of their international legal obligations to prevent and address violations of children’s rights, including those facilitated by digital technologies. Such technologies can be exploited to facilitate the recruitment and use of children by armed groups and other violations against children affected by armed conflict.
