Islamic Relief UK Launches Charity Week to Provide Support for Vulnerable Children
—————————————
The student-led initiative has developed into a global movement, promoting humanitarian action, community solidarity and Islamic values through fundraising activities, sponsored events, creative challenges and community gatherings.
Mariam Kadodia, national community fundraising manager at Islamic Relief UK, said the campaign gives young people an opportunity to support children in need, strengthen communities and put their values into action.
Shawon Sheikh, a 24-year-old data engineer from Birmingham who has participated in the campaign for three years, completed a half marathon and a hike in the Brecon Beacons National Park this year to raise funds for orphans.
This year’s participants will also have a say in deciding which projects receive funding.
