A three-day annual gathering of Ahmadiyya Muslim women in Ghana brought together thousands of participants, including representatives from Christian women’s organizations, in a show of interfaith engagement and cooperation.
The 44th National Ijtema of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Women’s Association (Lajna Ima’illah Ghana), held in Wa, Upper West Region, focused on the role of women in promoting moral values, strengthening families and contributing to social development. The event included participation from Christian groups such as the Christian Women’s Association and Presbyterian Women’s Association, alongside Muslim representatives.
Speakers at the gathering emphasized shared religious values, including compassion, peaceful coexistence and the responsibility of women in raising future generations. Discussions also highlighted the importance of interfaith cooperation in addressing social challenges and building stronger communities.
Organizers said the annual gathering provides a platform for spiritual reflection, education and dialogue between different religious communities, while encouraging women to contribute to peacebuilding and humanitarian efforts in Ghana.
