Humanitarian Groups Say Gaza Ceasefire Exists “In Name Only”

More than 100 humanitarian and human rights organizations warned on Friday that Gaza’s ceasefire exists “in name only,” as Palestinians continue to face Israeli attacks, hunger and a collapsing healthcare system one year after the agreement took effect.

In a joint statement, the groups said more than 1,400 Palestinians, including at least 327 children, had been killed over the past year. Nearly two million people still need shelter, none of Gaza’s 36 hospitals is fully functioning, and more than 18,500 patients are awaiting medical evacuation.

The organizations warned that winter could worsen conditions for displaced families living in tents and damaged buildings. They called for an end to attacks, unrestricted humanitarian aid and reconstruction supplies, and accountability for alleged violations of international law.
