On the eve of Arbaeen of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), the historic city of Lucknow, India, was immersed in mourning, as its religious centers witnessed the enthusiastic presence of mourners and devotees of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).
Mourning gatherings were held by various chest-beating processions, accompanied by night-long devotional programs at Imambaras and other religious centers across the city.
According to Shia News, speakers and religious scholars at the ceremonies discussed the philosophy of the Ashura uprising and highlighted the messages of perseverance and steadfastness demonstrated by Imam Zayn al-Abidin (peace be upon him) and Lady Zaynab (peace be upon her) in the aftermath of Karbala.
