Popular Mobilization Forces Facilitate Transport of Syrian Pilgrims to Karbala for Arbaeen Pilgrimage

The Anbar Operations Command of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) has launched a service and humanitarian plan to receive and transport Syrian pilgrims arriving in Iraq to participate in the Arbaeen pilgrimage of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).

The plan includes providing dedicated transportation services to transfer pilgrims from their arrival points to the holy city of Karbala, aiming to facilitate their movement and ensure safe and organized travel, particularly amid the growing number of visitors entering through western border crossings.

The services also include distributing meals and drinking water to pilgrims during their journey, along with providing logistical support to ease travel difficulties and meet their basic needs.

The Anbar Operations Command stated that these efforts are part of the broader service plan implemented by the Popular Mobilization Forces during the Arbaeen season, which includes humanitarian assistance and field support for pilgrims arriving from inside Iraq and abroad.

Various Iraqi security and service institutions continue preparations to support millions of pilgrims participating in the Arbaeen pilgrimage, with extensive arrangements focused on transportation, security, and visitor services.
