The Scientific Complex for the Holy Quran at the Holy al-Abbas Shrine has launched the national “Prince of Reciters” procession to serve visitors participating in the Arba’een pilgrimage of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), as part of its Quranic, cultural, and service programs during the pilgrimage season.
The initiative, supervised by the Quranic Projects Center, aims to provide pilgrims with an integrated experience combining religious education, Quranic activities, and various services. Hassanein Al-Hilou, director of the center, said the procession was established as part of efforts to serve visitors of Imam Hussein and Abu al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon them).
He explained that the program includes nightly Husseini gatherings leading up to Arba’een, featuring Quran recitations, lectures on Nahj al-Balagha, supplications, special pilgrimage readings, and devotional activities designed to create an atmosphere of faith and knowledge for visitors.
The procession also provides rest areas and other services to support pilgrims throughout their journey.
Located on the Najaf–Karbala route near Al-Ameed University at pillar 1238, the “Prince of Reciters” procession is considered one of the prominent Quranic initiatives accompanying the Arba’een pilgrimage, combining the promotion of Quranic culture with service to Imam Hussein’s visitors.
