Al-Abbas Holy Shrine Prepares Umm al-Banin Courtyard, Basement to Welcome Arbaeen Pilgrims
———————————–
The Al-Abbas Holy Shrine has completed preparations for the Umm al-Banin (peace be upon her) courtyard and its basement to accommodate visitors during the Arbaeen pilgrimage of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), as part of its service plans to support the increasing number of pilgrims arriving in Karbala.
Sayyid Zain al-Abidin al-Quraishi, deputy head of the Holy Courtyard Care Department, said that staff from the department, in cooperation with several sections of the Al-Abbas Holy Shrine, completed the preparations of the courtyard and basement to provide additional spaces for pilgrims’ comfort during the large-scale pilgrimage.
He explained that the Umm al-Banin courtyard was divided into three sections to better manage crowd movement and meet visitors’ needs. The first section was designated as a rest area for women, the second as an organized passageway for pilgrims’ entry and exit, and the third as a rest area for men.
Al-Quraishi added that the courtyard’s basement has been fully equipped to receive female pilgrims, increasing the available capacity and providing suitable conditions for rest, particularly as the number of visitors continues to rise ahead of Arbaeen.
He emphasized that these preparations are part of a comprehensive service plan to welcome pilgrims visiting Imam Hussein and his brother Abu al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon them), provide the best possible services, and ensure smooth crowd movement throughout the Arbaeen pilgrimage days.
