Followers of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) and members of the Iraqi community in Istanbul, Türkiye, have commemorated the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Ali ibn al-Hussein Zayn al-Abidin (peace be upon him) through a mourning gathering held in the city.

The ceremony was organized by Al-Abrar Hussainiya and Foundation in the Kayabaşı area of Istanbul, with the participation of the Imam Hussein Center (peace be upon him), as part of ongoing programs to mark Husseini occasions and strengthen ties with the Iraqi community and lovers of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) in the city.

The program included the recitation of Ziyarat Ashura, with the participation of mourners who gathered to remember the suffering of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).

The ceremony also highlighted aspects of Imam Zayn al-Abidin’s (peace be upon him) life, his oppression, and his important role in preserving the message of the Husseini uprising and spreading the teachings of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) after the tragedy of Karbala.

The gathering concluded with the raising of a flag from the dome of the shrine of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), which was presented for blessings among attendees before being taken to the women’s prayer area to allow female participants to receive the same blessing.

The halls of the Hussainiya echoed with Husseini chants, reflecting the deep connection of the participants with Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), the Master of Martyrs, and his noble family.
