Pilgrim Convoys from Northern Iraq Reach Amerli on Their Way to Karbala for Arbaeen

Pilgrim convoys arriving from northern Iraq have reached Amerli District as they continue their long walking journey toward the holy city of Karbala to participate in the Arbaeen pilgrimage of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).

The convoys began their journey at the start of the month of Safar from several cities and areas in northern Iraq, traveling through provinces and towns along the Arbaeen route amid a spiritual atmosphere filled with devotion to Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), before continuing toward Karbala.

The route taken by these pilgrims is considered one that recalls the historical journey of the captives of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) following the tragedy of Karbala. Each year, increasing numbers of pilgrims from northern provinces take part in this march, carrying Imam Hussein’s (peace be upon him) flags and chanting expressions of loyalty throughout their journey.

Local residents and Husseini service stations along the route have welcomed the pilgrims, providing food, water, and various humanitarian services, reflecting the spirit of solidarity and cooperation that characterizes the Arbaeen pilgrimage.

The pilgrims will continue their march in the coming days until reaching the holy city of Karbala, where they will join millions of visitors from inside and outside Iraq in commemorating Arbaeen of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).
