A large women’s mourning procession was held in Nasiriyah, Iraq, to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of Lady Ruqayyah bint Imam Hussein (peace be upon them), with the participation of many mourners expressing their grief and condolences to the Prophet’s family.

The procession, held on Saturday, the third day of Safar, was led by a symbolic coffin representing Lady Ruqayyah (peace be upon her). Participants carried banners and raised slogans recalling the tragedy of Karbala and the suffering endured by the family of Imam Hussein (peace be upon them) after the Battle of Karbala.

The participants said the ceremony represents a renewal of their commitment to the values and sacrifices of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), as well as an effort to preserve and promote Hussaini traditions and the principles of the Karbala uprising among future generations.

The mourning event concluded with a memorial gathering featuring elegies and recitations recounting the hardships faced by Lady Ruqayyah after the events of Karbala. The ceremony also included prayers for the hastening of the reappearance of Imam al-Mahdi (may Allah hasten his noble reappearance).
