Free Water Distributed in Mauritius in Memory of Imam Hussein

Volunteers from the global charity organization “Who is Hussain?” set up free bottled water distribution stations in Port Louis, the capital of Mauritius, as part of efforts to introduce the message of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, during the month of Muharram.

According to Jafariya News, the initiative was carried out in the Indian Ocean island nation to share the values of peace, humanity, and freedom associated with the uprising of Karbala.

Bottles of water were handed out to members of the public with labels reading: “Water For All In The Name pf Imam Hussein” The message drew the attention of many passersby and served as a symbolic reminder of the thirst endured by Imam Hussein and his companions in Karbala.

Organizers said such cultural and humanitarian activities help present the message of Ashura to people from different religions and cultures. The initiative also reflected the growing global presence of Husseini values and the efforts of Shia communities and lovers of Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, to promote justice, compassion, and human dignity.
