Registration Opens for Hussaini Processions Ahead of Muharram in Holy Kadhimiya

Authorities in the holy city of Kadhimiya have begun early preparations for the month of Muharram and the Hussaini mourning season by opening registration procedures for processions, Hussaini bodies and service groups taking part in the annual commemorations.

The measures include organizing the work of Hussaini processions and volunteer service bodies, completing administrative procedures related to their participation, and arranging their movement and service routes to ensure the smooth conduct of mourning ceremonies and visitor services.

The preparations come as part of the city’s annual arrangements for Muharram, which witnesses wide participation from religious and service groups arriving from different areas to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hussein, his family and companions, peace be upon them.

Field efforts are also continuing in coordination with relevant authorities to create an organized environment for the ceremonies and to provide necessary services for visitors and mourners arriving in Kadhimiya during the days of mourning.

Every year, the Muharram season in holy Kadhimiya includes mourning gatherings, religious processions, sermons and volunteer services offered by local residents and participating groups in remembrance of the tragedy of Karbala.
