Swiss Researchers Develop New AI to Design Complex Molecules
—————————————–
Researchers at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in Switzerland have created a new artificial intelligence system designed to simplify the creation of complex molecules for chemists.

The AI system can take simple, everyday language descriptions and suggest suitable pathways for molecule synthesis, helping researchers analyze chemical reactions more efficiently.

According to Euronews, the technology—named “SynthG”—leverages large language models to guide and evaluate chemical software tools, effectively assisting scientists in planning synthetic routes.

The report notes that the system has the potential to accelerate the design of pharmaceuticals and advanced materials, while also reducing some of the computational complexity that traditionally accompanies chemical synthesis planning.
