Kufa Mosque Hosts 15th “Safir” International Festival in Memory of Muslim ibn A’qil

Kufa Mosque hosted the 15th International Safir Cultural Festival to commemorate the arrival of the Honourable Muslim ibn Aqil (peace be upon him) in Kufa.

The event featured local and international figures and included research and literary sessions, art exhibitions, and cultural competitions.

According to Shia Waves Agency, the festival was organized to promote historical awareness and human values, to honor the loyalty of the Honourable Muslim ibn Aqil (peace be upon him), and to strengthen cultural ties among countries.

It should be mentioned that the Honourable Muslim ibn Aqil (peace be upon him) was sent to Kufa by Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) as a special envoy and ambassador to the people in order to assess their claimed allegiance to the Imam and prepare the circumstances for his arrival, only to be betrayed by the community out of their fear of the oppressive rule of the Umayyads and love for the material world.
