Grand Ayatullah Shirazi Urges Daily Self-Accountability During Ramadan
——————————
Senior Shiite religious authority Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al‑Husayni al‑Shirazi has called on believers to practice daily self-accountability throughout the holy month of Ramadan, stressing that personal moral and spiritual development constitutes an individual religious obligation.
In remarks delivered during his Ramadan guidance speech, Al-Shirazi encouraged individuals to devote time each day—even briefly—to reviewing their words, actions, and omissions, describing such reflection as a fundamental step toward spiritual reform and self-discipline.
He emphasized that cultivating one’s character and conduct is as obligatory as fulfilling religious duties and avoiding prohibitions, urging believers to use Ramadan as a practical opportunity for meaningful change. According to His Eminence, sincere effort during the month should lead individuals to recognize tangible improvement in their behavior and mindset compared with the past.
The senior cleric has consistently highlighted the importance of religious occasions as opportunities for spiritual renewal, urging believers to draw moral strength from them to refine personal conduct and advance on a path of ethical and spiritual growth.
He noted that sustained self-improvement during Ramadan can contribute not only to individual reform but also to broader social betterment, aligning personal responsibility with communal well-being.
