Groundbreaking Held for Ahl al-Bayt Mosque in Malawi with Support From “Imam Husayn for All” Campaign

A groundbreaking ceremony has been held for the Ahl al-Bayt Mosque in a Shia-populated village in the Republic of Malawi, supported and overseen by the “Imam Husayn for All” campaign, an initiative dedicated to promoting the heritage of the Ahl al-Bayt and assisting underserved Shia communities worldwide.

Residents of the village, which until now has lacked any mosque or religious center, have long been without a place to hold congregational prayers, religious gatherings, or Islamic ceremonies—an absence that has made the project a pressing need for the local community.

Organizers of the campaign stated that the new mosque is intended not only as a place of worship but also as a center for religious education. Plans include offering faith-based and Qur’anic classes for children and youth, with the aim of strengthening religious identity and fostering a connection to the values and traditions of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).
