…………..
Landmines and unexploded ordnance continue to pose a deadly threat to civilians across Syria. In September 2025 alone, 29 people, including children, were killed and numerous others injured in incidents caused by remnants of war.
These accidents occurred in areas under both Syrian government control and autonomous administration, highlighting the nationwide risk.
Since December 8, 2024, the total toll from war debris has risen to 615 fatalities, including 168 children and 42 women, with 668 others wounded, among them 293 children and 21 women.
Human rights groups emphasize that unexploded ordnance remains a major humanitarian and security challenge in Syria and are calling for intensified international and local efforts to clear contaminated areas and protect civilians from ongoing dangers.
