Egyptian Shia Condemn Insult to Holy Prophet’s Birthday
——————————————–
Egypt’s Shia community has strongly condemned offensive remarks reportedly made in a mosque concerning the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him and his pure family).
According to Shia Waves Agency, community leaders issued a statement denouncing the remarks as an insult to the conscience and faith of the entire Muslim ummah. They called on Egypt’s religious institutions and state authorities to take firm action against such incidents.
The statement stressed that commemorating the Prophet’s birth is among the most significant Islamic traditions and emphasized that love for Prophet Muhammad transcends sectarian lines, serving as a unifying bond for all Muslims.
Observers note that such incidents risk fueling sectarian sensitivities at a time when religious unity is needed to counter social and political challenges. The Shia community urged responsible discourse and respect for Islamic values in public religious spaces.
