Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi emphasized that true Islam is rooted in loyalty to the allies of God and disavowal of His enemies. In a statement published by his official office, he noted that this principle is a core aspect of Islamic belief.

Citing the Qur’an, he stressed that faith cannot coexist with affection for those who oppose God. He highlighted the significance of two key Islamic dates—18th Dhul-Hijjah (Eid al-Ghadir) and 9th Rabi’ al-Awwal—describing them as complementary expressions of allegiance and disassociation, central to the foundation of Islamic faith.
