Saudi Arabia Launches AI Curriculum for Six Million Students
————————————–
Saudi Arabia has introduced a comprehensive Artificial Intelligence (AI) curriculum for over six million students, aiming to equip the younger generation with essential technological skills and prepare them for future career opportunities, Khaama Press reported. The new program, rolled out this academic year, spans all educational levels from elementary to secondary schools, with content tailored to different age groups.
Students will learn fundamental AI concepts alongside advanced applications that promote creativity, problem-solving, and innovation. The curriculum is designed to help students integrate AI into daily life and ready them for careers shaped by digital transformation.
This initiative aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, led by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, which seeks to foster a knowledge-based society and enhance human capital. The AI curriculum supports the Kingdom’s ambition to become a global leader in technology and innovation.
Authorities plan to expand AI education across all schooling levels, incorporating ethical guidelines and a national framework to ensure alignment with international standards. Alongside AI, new elective courses such as Cybersecurity, Tourism and Hospitality, Fashion, Art and Design, and First Aid have been introduced to develop practical skills.
Complementing these educational reforms, Saudi Arabia has established a state-owned AI company and plans a $10 billion investment fund, reinforcing its commitment to technological advancement and preparing its youth for the evolving job market.
