Bangladesh Dengue Death Toll Reaches 101 as New Cases Surge

Bangladesh’s dengue-related fatalities have risen to 101, with three new deaths recorded in the past 24 hours—two in Dhaka South City Corporation and one in Chittagong Division, Anadolu Agency reported.
During the same period, 448 new patients were admitted to hospitals, bringing the total number of dengue cases this year to 24,183. Meanwhile, 22,708 patients have recovered and been discharged.
Of the total deaths, 45 occurred in Dhaka South, 11 in Dhaka North, and 17 in Chittagong. The Barisal Division saw the highest influx of new cases in this update, with 95 hospitalisations, followed by 84 in Dhaka Division and 81 in Chittagong Division.
For context, Bangladesh experienced its deadliest dengue outbreak on record in 2023, with 1,705 fatalities and 321,179 confirmed cases.
