Police Launches Probe into Reported Damage to Mosque Door in Liverpool

Police have opened an investigation after a glass door at the Wirral Deen Centre and Mosque in Tranmere was discovered cracked on Saturday night, Iqna.ir reported.

The incident occurred on Borough Road, with Merseyside Police receiving a report around 9:45 p.m. on July 26 following reports of a loud noise in the area. Officers responded promptly and have maintained a visible presence while carrying out inquiries, according to the Liverpool Echo on Sunday.

Chief Inspector Ben Wayment stated that CCTV footage from nearby cameras is being reviewed as part of the investigation to determine how the damage occurred. He emphasized that police are keeping an open mind regarding the circumstances and encouraged anyone who witnessed suspicious activity or has relevant dashcam footage to come forward.

As of Sunday morning, the mosque remained cordoned off with several police vehicles nearby. No arrests have been made, and it is not yet clear whether the damage was caused intentionally or accidentally.

Authorities are appealing to the public for any information that could assist the investigation and have asked people to contact Merseyside Police if they have any relevant details.
