Four Killed in Clashes at Youth Rally in Southern Bangladesh
………………..
At least four people were killed and several others injured during a rally organized by the youth-led National Citizen Party (NCP) in Gopalganj, southern Bangladesh, on Wednesday, according to local media reports.
The rally marked one year since mass student protests led to former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s departure to India. Interim leader and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Muhammad Yunus condemned the violence, alleging attacks on demonstrators, police, and journalists.
He criticized the Awami League and its student wing for attempting to suppress the rally. Authorities imposed a curfew following the incident, while official responses are still pending.
