Extremist Settlers Storm Al-Aqsa Mosque Under Israeli Police Protection
———————————–
Dozens of extremist Jewish settlers stormed the courtyards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound (Al-Haram Al-Sharif) in occupied Jerusalem on Sunday morning, entering through the Moroccan Gate under heavy protection from Israeli occupation police, Jordan News reported.
According to a statement from the Islamic Waqf Department in occupied Jerusalem, the settlers wandered through the courtyards of the sacred site, received briefings about the so-called “Temple,” and performed Talmudic rituals in the eastern section of the compound.
Meanwhile, Israeli forces continued to enforce strict restrictions on Palestinian worshippers, confiscating their ID cards at the mosque’s outer gates and blocking their access.
Widespread appeals have been made urging Jerusalem residents and Palestinians within the occupied interior to mobilize, remain present, and maintain a steadfast presence at Al-Aqsa Mosque.
These calls stress the significance of mass attendance and performing prayers at the mosque as a practical response to the occupation’s ongoing violations and to resist efforts aimed at isolating the holy site from its religious and popular environment.
Al-Aqsa Mosque experiences near-daily incursions and violations by settlers—except on Fridays and Saturdays—under the protection of Israeli police, which is widely perceived as part of attempts to impose temporal and spatial divisions on the mosque.
