UN Reports Over 600 Killed Near Gaza Aid Sites and Convoys
……………….

The UN human rights office reported Friday that at least 613 people have been killed in Gaza near humanitarian aid convoys and distribution points since late May. Spokeswoman Ravina Shamdasani said the figures, covering May 27 to June 27, are based on the office’s internal reports and standard verification methods.

While the office could not assign direct responsibility for all deaths, Shamdasani said there is clear evidence that the Israeli military has fired on Palestinians attempting to access aid at sites run by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, an Israeli-backed American organization.

She added it remains unclear how many deaths occurred directly at distribution points versus near aid convoys. Shamdasani acknowledged that the true scale may never be fully known due to limited UN access on the ground. The UN has called for greater protection of civilians seeking humanitarian assistance amid ongoing hostilities in Gaza.
