———————————–
Egypt has launched the 32nd International Quran Memorization and Interpretation Competition, scheduled to take place in Cairo from June 29 to July 6, 2025, Iqna news agency reported. The Ministry of Religious Endowments announced that the written exams will be held at Al-Nour Mosque in the Abbasiya district, attracting qualified contestants from across Egypt’s governorates.
The competition features eight branches catering to diverse participants: full Quran memorization with interpretation for non-imams and non-preachers; non-Arabic speakers; imams, female preachers, and university faculty; younger participants focusing on the last two parts of the Quran; beautiful recitation (tajweed); participants with disabilities; Quran-committed families; and Quranic readings (Qira’at) emphasizing the seven readings.
Both men and women are eligible to participate, but the ministry emphasized strict adherence to eligibility criteria, with disqualification for any violations. Additional competition categories are planned for December. This event continues Egypt’s tradition of promoting Quranic knowledge and memorization at an international level.
