The conflict between Israel and Iran escalated sharply on Sunday, with both nations exchanging missile strikes for a third consecutive day. The ongoing hostilities have resulted in significant casualties and damage across the region, heightening concerns of a prolonged confrontation.

According to multiple media outlets, Israel targeted Iran’s Defense Ministry in Tehran, along with sites allegedly linked to its nuclear program. While Iranian missiles penetrated Israeli air defenses, striking buildings in various cities. Iran has now launched nearly 30 additional ballistic missiles toward Israel, adding to an earlier barrage of over 50 missiles.

In Israel, at least 14 people have been killed since the conflict began, according to local and global sources. The country’s main airport remains closed.

Iranian media reported on Sunday that the Ministry of Health stated that the death toll from Israeli strikes across the country on Friday and Saturday had reached 128 people, including women and children, while hundreds were injured.

Israeli strikes reportedly killed 14 nuclear scientists and hit military, intelligence, and civilian sites across Tehran, Arak, Tabriz, and Mashhad. Israel’s military confirmed that its strike on Mashhad, over 2,300 kilometers away, marked the furthest operation in its air force’s history.

Meanwhile, Iran’s retaliatory attacks struck key Israeli infrastructure, including a power station in Hadera and a residence linked to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Caesarea. The Prime Minister noted U.S. pilots assisted in intercepting incoming drones. Tensions remain high as both nations show no signs of de-escalation.
