US imposes visa curbs on Indian travel agents over illegal migration links

The United States has imposed visa restrictions on owners and senior officials of Indian travel agencies allegedly involved in facilitating illegal immigration, Anadolu Agency reported Monday.

US State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce said the action targets individuals “knowingly” linked to human smuggling operations. She added that US consulates in India are working to identify and penalize such actors.

The restrictions reflect the Trump administration’s strict immigration policy. Indian authorities and travel agencies have not yet issued a response to the announcement.
