ChatGPT Rises to Fifth Most-Visited Website Globally in April 2025

OpenAI’s ChatGPT has climbed to become the world’s fifth most-visited website in April 2025, Anadolu Agency reported citing data from Similarweb compiled by Anadolu Agency. Despite competition from the free and open-source Chinese AI chatbot DeepSeek, ChatGPT regained its position among the top five websites last month.

Google maintained its dominance with 81.31 billion monthly visits, followed by YouTube (28.68 billion), Facebook (11.56 billion), and Instagram (6.17 billion). ChatGPT’s rise is notable, moving up eight positions compared to earlier this year and four spots from ninth place last year, according to 2024 data from global agency We Are Social.

Among AI tools, ChatGPT leads decisively with 4.7 billion monthly visitors in April, far ahead of competitors. Canva, a popular graphic design platform, ranked second with 887 million visits, while Google Translate secured third place with 595 million. DeepSeek, which attracted users with its cost-effective and open-source model, ranked fourth.

Other notable AI tools include Character.AI (226 million visits), JanitorAI (200 million), Perplexity (133 million), and Google’s Gemini, which dropped to eighth place with 118 million visits after losing traffic to DeepSeek. The list rounds out with Remove.bg and Claude in ninth and tenth places, respectively.
