Quranic Ceremony Honors Martyrs of Iraq’s White Army

The Holy Quran House of Imam Hussain Shrine organized a Quranic gathering at Ibn Sina Teaching Hospital in Mosul to commemorate the martyrs of Iraq’s White Army—health workers who died during humanitarian service, Iqna reported. The event, attended by medical professionals, security officials, and local dignitaries, featured Quran recitations and speeches emphasizing faith-based resilience.

Muhammad Ali Al-Rubaie of the Quranic Media Center stated this was part of nationwide efforts to revive Quranic culture, particularly in regions scarred by conflict. Reciter Salah Al-Sharikhani performed solemn verses honoring the martyrs, while hospital director Dr. Saad Al-Khattabi praised the Al-Abbas Holy Shrine’s role in promoting Quranic values.

The ceremony highlighted the Quran as a “constitution for life,” urging practical application of its teachings. Delegations from the Popular Mobilization Forces and local sheikhs joined the emotionally charged event, which concluded with interactive prayers for the fallen.
