TEKNOFEST Draws 225,000 Visitors in Northern Cyprus, Next Stop Istanbul

TEKNOFEST, Türkiye’s flagship technology and aviation festival, attracted 225,000 attendees during its four-day event in Lefkosa, the capital of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
Held at the old Ercan Airport under TRNC presidential patronage, the festival featured air shows, competitions, and workshops showcasing innovation in aerospace and tech.
Selcuk Bayraktar, TEKNOFEST’s chairman, called the event a “national awakening” fostering a self-reliant generation. Turkish Industry Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacir highlighted TRNC’s ambition to become a global IT hub, with the festival aligning with this vision.
Organized by the T3 Foundation and Türkiye’s Industry Ministry, TEKNOFEST has grown since its 2018 debut, with Adana’s 2024 edition drawing 1.1 million visitors. The TRNC follows Azerbaijan as the second international host.
The next edition will return to Istanbul in September 2025, continuing its tradition of alternating between Turkish cities and Istanbul annually.
